from Hamed Masoumi via FlickrThese days, there’s so much information on the web about going green that it can be hard to ferret out the best sources. However, some notable bloggers have taken a dedicated and informative approach to the sustainable movement, updating their audiences with daily posts on everything from policy changes to green products for the home. Some even offer daily or weekly newsletters, so you can really stay in the know. Here are some of our favorites:

TreeHugger

This one-stop shop for all things green features blog updates on everything from sustainable design to business and policy, and their “How to Green” guides are great go-to sources for recommendations on making everything from your lighting to your sex life more sustainable. If you’ve got news to share, the Hugg page offers a forum for reader-submitted green news.

Two Steps Forward

Green business writer Joel Makower is a respected voice when it comes to sustainability in the corporate world, and his blog, Two Steps Forward, features insightful, in-depth pieces on consumer companies, technology and green travel. Check out his State of Green Business 2008 for a comprehensive look at how the corporate world is moving towards a more eco-friendly future.

EcoFabulous

Zem Joaquin searches out and blogs about objects that are, well, just what the name of her site implies: eco-friendly and fabulous. As a contributing editor to Domino and board member of Global Green, she has an outstanding eye for both. You’ll find posts on sleek and sophisticated new clothing lines, stationery, food products and more.

Sustainablog

One of the longest-running green blogs on the web, Sustainablog became part of the Green Options Network late last year and now features multiple writers in addition to its founder, former English professor Jeff McIntire-Strasburg. Green business, technology and policy are the major focus, but the site has a little bit of everything.

Inhabitat

Following the philosophy that “green design is good design,” Inhabitat is your evergreen resource for everything design-related, from improvements in furniture to new gadgets to fashion and graphics. Check out their Inhabitots section for sustainable clothing and furniture for kids, and the Interiors section for some high-tech ideas to update your home.

Great Green Goods

Shoppers, unite! Great Green Goods is a green marketplace for everything from hats to holiday cards made from recycled material. Around any holiday, it’s a good place to go for sustainable gift ideas. Think recycled Valentine’s Day cards, fair trade Trick or Treat kits for Halloween, charitable holiday gifts and more.

Green LA Girl

Before you write this off as a regional blog (writer Siel does cover the Los Angeles area), check out the postings on lifestyle related topics like travel, art and—perhaps one of the most important parts of our day—coffee. In fact, the morning cup of joe is a frequent topic on the site, which has covered Starbucks and fair trade production closely. Of course, if a visit to LA happens to be in your near future, there’s a green guide to the city along with a calendar of green events.

WorldChanging

The authors of WorldChanging operate on the premise that the tools to create a better future are already out there; it’s just up to us to put them to use. There’s a focus on technology in most of the posts. Look for stories about carbon offsetting and how businesses are becoming more eco-friendly.

Enviroblog

If you’ve ever wondered about environmental toxins in food, water and air, Enviroblog is a great place to find information about public health. Posts cover everything from lead in lipstick to reusable plastic bottles to choosing the best baby formula. Written by scientists, policy analysts and media experts, Enviroblog manages to deliver the useful information without resorting to scare tactics.

TriplePundit

This blog follows the mantra of serving “people, planet and profit” (or, society, environment and business), and is written by MBA candidates at San Francisco’s Presidio School of Business, the first accredited MBA program with an overall immersion in sustainability. Even though the focus is on business, posts range from building materials to consumer beauty products and everything in between.
