Capella Hotels and Resorts is expanding their luxury brand with several new hotels and residential offerings in the upcoming years. Capella CEO Horst Schulze, former President and COO of Ritz-Carlton Hotels, is committed to creating properties with 100 rooms or fewer that combine the luxury of top-tier resorts with the individualized service and unique experiences more commonly found in boutique properties. Capella Hotels and Resorts have been announced for Germany, Singapore, Ireland, Mexico and the U.S. New resorts in Cabo San Lucas, the Riviera Maya and Telluride will offer ownership options.

Capella Resort & Spa, Pedregal de Cabo San Lucas

Situated on 24 oceanfront acres at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Capella Pedregal will feature a 66-room resort and spa, 38 fractional residences and casonas and 11 full-ownership villas slated for completion in Summer 2008. The resort will include four restaurants, a fitness facility and a Mountaintop Club with an infinity pool, event space and panoramic views of the resort and ocean. The 38 fractional residences and casonas are sold in one-eighth fractions, with three-bedroom units priced at $475,000 and four-bedrooms priced at $540,000. Twenty-one of these residences and casonas are still available, while the whole ownership villas, starting at $3 million, have already sold out.

Capella Resort & Spa, Bahia Maroma

Set within 254 secluded acres on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, and boasting a mile-long white sand beach, Capella Bahia Maroma is a perfectly situated for those looking to explore the Great Maya Reef (the world’s second largest coral reef), the world-renowned diving of Cozumel, Mayan archeological sites and the restaurants and shopping of Playa del Carmen. Slated for completion in Winter 2008, the resort will feature 86 hotel villas, 127 residences, a seaside golf course, spa, beach club and dining establishments. Residences, starting at $2.9 million, will include 43 three- and four-bedroom golf estates, 30 three- and four-bedroom condominiums and eight jungle haciendas.

Capella Resort & Spa, Telluride

The first U.S. Capella property will open in the Telluride Mountain Village in Winter 2008. The ski-in/ski-out hotel and residential property will include 48 fully owned condominiums, and amenities such as a lounge, spa, pool, fitness center, ski valet and multiple restaurants. Residences will feature fireplaces, steam showers and gourmet kitchens—most also include private terraces. The two- to four-bedroom residences are priced from $1.75 million to $5.5 million. In addition, the 100 hotel guest rooms will be available for sale as condo-hotel units starting at $510,000.
