Turning the Tides: Oceana and The Tides Hotels Make an Impact

The Tides ZihuatanejoTime and tide may wait for no man, but The Tides, an elite luxury brand of the Kor Hotel Group, isn’t waiting around to start making a difference. At the beginning of the year, the hotel group partnered with Oceana, the largest international organization dedicated to caring for the oceans of the world.

Want to get involved? Try getting away—pronto. In honor of World Ocean Day June 8, the hotel brand is offering ultra-lavish vacation packages throughout the month of June to raise money for the ocean conservation group. Three percent of the pre-taxed nightly rate (total prices range from $1,135 to $2,125) of each package they book will go toward furthering the nonprofit’s mission of protecting ocean habitats and marine life and reducing over-fishing. Additonally, each resort’s culinary team is changing its menu to make sure the offerings are sustainable. La Marea at The Tides South Beach, for one, took a popular Dover Sole dish off the menu, since it didn’t represent an environmentally friendly option. The packages also include water-related amenities and activities, such as oceanfront villas, a lava-shell massage and water sports.

Online Oceana room rates will be available through the end of the year at all Tides locations (The Tides South Beach in Florida, The Tides Riviera Maya and The Tides Zihuatanejo in Mexico) through a separate webpage.

The three Tides resorts are also working with Oceana, for example, Oceana is lending support toward the property’s acclaimed nesting program.

Getting wet and wild has never felt so rewarding.
