Destination Clubs: What's that house really worth?

We have had lots of readers tell us about their decision-making process when evaluating clubs. One of the issues some of them have had is determining the value of the houses that a club owns – since the clubs are using value in their marketing literature as a proxy for quality. Is the house on the map really a $3 million house? Did they pay that or buy a $1.5 million house and get lucky over the last 2 years with appreciation.

zillow.gifWell, at least for houses in the US, you no longer have to guess…you can zillow it. Zillow.com, brainchild of former executives from Expedia and $32 million in venture capital is “data porn” for boomers.

The Dream Catcher home in South Carolina? Here’s your answer. Zillow is not always on the money (it’s in beta) but it sure is fun.

Email us an address of any club home and we will post the zillow results here for others to use in their club evaluation. Write us at tips@heliumreport.com.

Update: We spoke with a representative from Dream Catcher who informed us the home above is 4 bedrooms, not 3, if you include the separate guest house, below. Click here to see more photos and floorplans of the property.
