Some thoughtful comments from a reader in response to our “Club Mad..??” post yesterday. “I thought it was a bit unfair to Tanner and Haley,” he points out. His complete text follows:

I have a few comments on the Time article. You knew it had to happen at some point that some negative press would hit. I thought it was a bit unfair to Tanner and Haley though. There are undoubtedly disappointed members / former members in every club. To be fair, the article should have contrasted at least one happy member of T & H not other club’s happy members. The gentlemen they quoted lost all credibility with me as he is now on the steering committee of the Havens (their properties are not in the same league with T & H Distinctive Retreats which makes it kind of funny). I hope this doesn’t set a new trend in reporting about clubs in the extremes-slinging dirt and advertorial. We need more objective middle ground-I guess that’s where you guys come in.
