And weighing in at 36 ounces...

Dream Catcher Retreats! A new entrant to the heavy weight class of destination club membership materials. Exclusive Resorts still leads the industry at 71 ounces, which makes sense if you’re showing off a portfolio of 300+ homes.

Dream Catcher is blunt about a key consumer concern that tarnishes the credibility of even the most honorable among us>

“(Y)ou may have heard horror stories about other destination clubs being slow, reluctant, or even refusing to honor their promise to refund membership deposits.”

Transparency is a key criteria for analyzing destination clubs. Dream Catcher has been one of the most forthcoming firms we’ve interviewed. The firm invites prospective members to:

“(E)xamine the company’s balance sheet, financial practices, and the people who founded the club and currently run it.”
It’s obviously not the weight of the marketing materials that determines the quality of a club. Instead, it’s the weight of a club’s commitment to establishing a level of trust with its members. Every club can produce glossy photos of homes, but not every club is willing to give you a peak inside the inner workings of their business. The financial strength of the firm determines if those homes will still be available for vacations ten years from now and if your deposit is secure.

We’ve covered it several times before (here, here, and here) – disclosure and assurance are critical for any destination club. We’re glad to see Dream Catcher’s being upfront about it.
