Premier Destinations completes the hat trick

The third new club we’ve discovered this week, Premier Destinations by Anne Sebastian announced its presence with a splashy, half-page ad in today’s Wall Street Journal. We called to introduce ourselves to Vicky Vorhees, club founder and CEO. We’ll do a full interview and post information for you next week.

In both their print advertisement and on their website Premier Destinations emphasizes high-touch hospitality as one of their key differentiators. They promise full-time concierge service, with your groceries in the cupboard and your tee time booked before your plane lands. Of course there’ll also be a limo waiting for you at the airport. And a private chef on hand to cook your first night’s meal.

Premier Destinations isn’t the first club to aim high with hospitality. As we’ve come to learn the follow-through on those promises of five-star service can be a logistical impossibility for some clubs. The key in maintaining the quality and managing the cost of these services is in a high home-to-location ratio. Clubs with multiple homes in the same location achieve an economy of scale that clubs with one home per location don’t enjoy.

While they are still in a charter phase and don’t yet have homes open, Premier Destinations indicates on their web site that the “first ten destinations will open this summer on the Western side of the continent and the ten Eastern side locations will follow shortly after.” It appears that they already understand the value of “clustering” homes. Or they read it on HeliumReport.com.
