NY Times highlights Cap Ferrat

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Five days after we featured a home in St. Jean Cap Ferrat, the New York Times published a short article about the same luxury destination in their Sunday edition. Quelle coïncidence!

“[F]or years, Cap Ferret had been a hideaway for wealthy families from Bordeaux and Paris. Unless you owned a house, there was no chic way in until nine years ago, when William Joinau, a summer resident, opened La Maison du Bassin.”

Well, maybe their inspiration wasn’t Helium Report, despite our press release last week. The writer forgot to mention Leading Residence of the World’s two-bedroom, two-bath residence as an alternative to owning a home or reserving a hotel room. At 300 Euro for the two-room apartment, the destination club option is a comparable cost per night, but adds the flexibility of fourteen other homes. Et, il est certainement plus luxueux, aussi. [And it’s certainly more luxurious, too.]

Even though the article is from 2006, perhaps it is still worth while to note that Cap Ferret (the destination pointed to in the NYT article) is on the Atlantic coast close to Arcachon and St Jean Cap Ferrat is on the Mediterannean close to Nice. Both are beautiful, but not the same...
