Costa Rica 25, Germany 0

No, it’s not the results of the first World Cup game today. But if the Germans can win it all while hosting, maybe they’ll travel to Costa Rica for a well-deserved team vacation.

In the World Cup of Destination Clubs, Paul Wanchope outscores Miroslave Klose 4-0, with another 21 “goals” (er, homes) in development. None of the destination clubs has any homes in Germany yet. And none has announced any plans to expand there – at least until the 3 million visitors leave.

We wrote last month about Exclusive Resorts’ expansion into Costa Rica: three homes available and nineteen more in development. The $72 million they just raised will help fund their growth to 22 homes.

Dream Catcher Retreats and Crescendo are two clubs close to launching luxury homes in Costa Rica, bringing the expected total to 24.

And the 25th home? Villa Marlea – Quintess’ beautiful five bedroom, four bath home on Paradisus Playa Conhal Resort. With over 3,500 square feet of living space and a private infinity pool and spa, the home can host up to 12 people. Just enough to fit a German soccer team – and Dirk Nowitzki, if he can win a title, too.
