Dream Catcher Retreats: Member feedback

We received some positive comments from Dream Catcher Retreats members in response to our request for insights. In May, we wrote about Casa Bonita in Naples, Florida and asked readers to share their experiences. Diane McMeekin sent a story about her family’s past and upcoming trips. She and her husband, Tom, who “work[s] for a large investment management company in the institutional money management field” are pleased with their membership, but also provide some feedback for management.

Email us at tips@heliumreport.com to tell us about your experience as a destination club member.

We have been members of Dream Catcher for 9 months and have travelled to Napa, Beaver Creek and Cabo. We have a scheduled trip to Naples in June and 2 dates are booked in the new apartments in NYC for July and August. We love that our adult children are able to participate; our son and his wife recently visited Turks and Caicos and our daughter and her husband are planning their trip to Maui.

We have found the attention to our needs and trips to be outstanding. When we arrived in Cabo last month, there on the nightstand in the master bedroom was a picture of our 5 grandchildren. It just doesn’t get any more personal than that! Our personal reservation assistant makes each experience perfect and the local destination host takes care of every need once we arrive.

Service is exemplary, the fine details in each home are amazing. Bookings are not a problem so far, and we hope that continues as more members are added.

The only area of concern is general communication from the management. While very transparent financially and very responsive when specific questions are asked, I have found that general terms of our original membership agreement have been changed with no communication to us. These “surprises” have all been positive, but I think a more proactive approach would be better. We have friends in other clubs and know that, in one instance, they have access to the weekly management meetings by phone giving them the most current update on management decisions.

Not for one moment have we regretted our decision to join Dream Catcher.

-Diane and Tom McMeekin

We discussed the McMeekin’s concerns with Lisa Weltz, VP Marketing at Dream Catcher Retreats. The club has made recent changes to improve member communication. Dream Catcher launched a member newsletter and have plans for periodic phone updates from CEO Scott Anderson. We bet he’ll have some memorable quotes, if our past interview with him is any indication.
