The Delta AirElite 10-Hour Card

One recurring theme in the Decision Guide to Private Jet Travel is “Just Go Flying.” With all the complications of sorting through the business model, it’s tempting to cut to the quickest, lowest commitment available. You’ll get a feel for the private jet experience and an opportunity to try on a few different jet models.

On-demand charter works, but if you want a taste of the guaranteed “jet card” business, consider Delta AirElite’s 10-hour Fleet Membership card. This is the lowest denomination card available, with a buy-in cost of just over $40,000. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Airlines, Delta AirElite mileage counts for Delta awards, and all Delta AirElite cardholders are awarded the elite “Medallion status” benefits when flying Delta.

The Fleet Membership card is also available in 25- and 50-hour blocks, applicable against light, midsize or large jets. A Premiere Fleet option ensures you fly only on the latest aircraft. Roundtrips earn a 35% efficiency bonus (extra flight time), and your debit balance is secured in an escrow account at your request.

Delta AirElite also offers traditional on-demand charter, and a fractional card program through Flexjet.
