How to Swing the Hottest Seat at the Tour de France

One look at the rabid cycling fans along the route of the Tour de France might deter some travelers from a heartfelt attempt at a experiencing the excitement in person – but what if you rode in one of the Tour support cars? Or hovered above the peloton in a private helicopter? One Key destination club has the flexibility to arrange those events, or pretty much any variant you could dream up – for a price, of course.
One Key’s CEO Jay Sapovits told Helium Report that “coordinating outside services is easier based on [our] model.” Sapovits has noted in a past interview that One Key doesn’t own a portfolio of homes and therefore they have the “flexibility to cater specifically to a client’s needs.”
Sounds like luxury bespoke travel more than a destination club.
That’s just as well, because without home acquisition on their plate, One Key can focus more on personalized travel services. While other destination clubs don’t typically shirk the responsibility of home acquisition, they also don’t typically omit a membership fee. Exclusive Resorts, an industry leader, owns 85% and leases 15% of their homes and charges a $425,000 deposit.
One Key, however, doesn’t charge a membership deposit and therefore does not need to guard a pool of refundable deposits. Trips are custom-tailored, and homes are approved by Sapovits’ extensive network that he has groomed over the years since serving as VP of Marquis Jet. And to consumers whose money is no stumbling-block for the good life, a personalized experience of the Tour de France is well within One Key’s reach.
