These days, destination clubs offer more than just luxury homes in beach, mountain and other resort locations. Many clubs have beefed up their portfolios with luxury yachts, providing members the same destination club experience and service, but with the added freedom to explore different seaside locations. Love luxury, but don’t want to be house bound? Here’s an overview of four clubs that allow members to hit the high seas.

Exclusive ResortsThe World

The World - Residential Cruise ShipIn addition to more than 350 homes available around the globe, Exclusive Resorts offers its members five apartments aboard the luxury yacht The World. This 12-deck ship has resort-like amenities including four restaurants, a Clinique La Prarie spa, tennis courts and a jogging track. Each apartment is more than 1,300 square feet and features a private veranda, gourmet kitchen and two large bedrooms. Exclusive Resorts’ members can reserve an apartment on The World just like they would any home offered by the destination club. The World wraps up its 2007 itinerary with stops throughout the Mediterranean in November and finishes the year in Spain, Morocco and the Canary Islands.

Yellowstone Club WorldThe Piano Bar & Tooth Fairy

Tooth fairy yachtYellowstone Club World, an ultra-luxury destination club, offers two private yachts in addition to their six homes around the world. Recently refurbished, The Piano Bar can accommodate 12 guests and features an air-conditioned upper deck with player piano, as well as outdoor barbeque, wet bar and pool. Tooth Fairy is a 147-foot yacht that can accommodate 10 guests. Both yachts are run by professional crews and can be reserved by members just as they would book other Yellowstone Club World homes.

SolsticeSolstice 1

Solstice YachtSailing out of St. Thomas November through March, the private yacht Solstice 1 makes stops throughout the British Virgin Islands. The ship, which can accommodate six guests, begins sailing out of St, Maarten in April 2008. On board, members can enjoy the outdoor barbeque, gourmet kitchen, entertainment center with flat screen TV, and even wireless internet access. Solstice 1 also pulls along a 24-foot sport boat so guests can head out for a day of snorkeling, fishing, water skiing or scuba diving.

Distinctive Holiday HomesLady K and a Hanse sailing yacht

Lady k yachtDistinctive Holiday Homes members currently enjoy a choice of two yachts, and the destination club plans to add one more ship to its portfolio, as well as apartments on The World. The Lady K is an 86-foot motor yacht, accommodating eight guests in four rooms. A kayak, snorkeling gear, two bikes, wake boards and water skis are available for travelers. The yacht tours the South of France from April through October. Booking a cruise on the Lady K differs from making a reservation for one of the club’s homes. Members must use eight membership days for a week on-board the Lady K.

For those members who wish to set sail instead of power up, Distinctive Holiday Homes also has a 53-foot Hanse sailboat that can host six guests in three cabins. The boat features amenities like portable DVD players for movie nights on deck, an iPod uploaded with music, snorkel equipment, and bikes for port-side excursions. Unlike the Lady K, where members pay a premium with their days, this Hanse sailboat can be booked for a week long trip for just three membership days.
